Tea is a famous beverage unique to China, sold all over the world. It is a shrub or small tree with glabrous young branches. The leaves are leathery, oblong or elliptical, obtuse or sharp at the tip, cuneate at the base, shiny above, glabrous below or initially pubescent, with serrated edges, and glabrous petioles. The capsule is 3-globose or 1-2-globose, 1.1-1.5 cm high, with 1-2 seeds in each capsule. The flowering period is from October to February of the following year.
