Steel shot is a spherical particle made of special materials through special heat treatment. Steel shot is a commonly used surface treatment material. There are many types of steel shot. For different types of steel shot, the raw materials and equipment required are also different.

Steel shot is a wear-resistant material. The hardness of steel shot is moderate, the toughness is strong, it has good impact resistance and long service life. It has good rebound, fast cleaning speed and low consumption when cleaning workpieces. Steel shot has a wide range of uses, such as castings, forgings, surface treatment of machined parts and surface treatment of parts after heat treatment. General manufacturing, shipbuilding, etc. all need steel shot.

First, melt high-quality steel blocks, hair, and steel chips, and then use centrifugal discs to high-speed centrifugal forming to throw the molten steel into the water, so that the surface temperature of the steel shot drops sharply to form a shot body, which is a quenching. After the first quenching, the shot body is dried and reheated and tempered in the furnace to achieve the applicable hardness. The tempered steel shot is sorted into different grades of products that meet SAE standards through a mechanical screen for shot peening equipment.

Screening purpose

Size classification is used for rust removal and polishing of workpieces, and its particle size requires high uniformity. Therefore, sandblasting steel shot manufacturers need to use vibrating screens to perform particle size classification and remove larger particles to ensure the uniformity of the steel shot particle size.

Conduct effective analysis based on customer needs

1. The first question to consider is to clarify the type of steel shot?

Steel shot is divided into three types: alloy steel shot, cast iron shot, and glass shot. Commonly used screening equipment includes round screens and rectangular screens. For screening steel shots, rectangular vibrating screens are mostly used, that is, "linear vibrating screens".

2. How to choose a vibrating screen through the material?

This requires the customer group of the steel shot manufacturer to determine the specifications of the steel shot. If it is just for size separation, a single-layer sieve can be used; if it is for size separation and soil removal screening, an additional layer is required to select two layers of sieves [three outlets], and so on. The more specifications, the more layers need to be selected. For large particles and large output requirements, linear vibrating screens are generally used more; for fine particles, high screening accuracy requirements, and small output requirements, Rotary vibrating screens are generally used more.

3. Things to note when choosing a linear screen:

Linear vibrating screens are generally divided into: 500mm-800mm-1000mm-1200mm-1500mm and other different widths of vibrating screens, from small to large according to their output, it is recommended to consult the sales staff for details. The length is selected according to the fineness of the processing as the selection standard. If you want to screen more cleanly, you have to choose a linear vibrating screen with a relatively long length!
