Salt production process

Sea salt

Crystallized from seawater, with a higher iodine content and a lower salt concentration; my country's sea salt production generally adopts the sun-drying method, also known as the "spreading method", which is to use coastal mudflats, build dams to open up salt fields, and attract seawater to fill the ponds by pumping water through the tide. After evaporation under the sun, it becomes brine. When the brine concentration evaporates to 25° Baume, sodium chloride is precipitated, which is salt. The process flow of raw salt produced by the sun-drying method is generally four major procedures: tide intake, brine production, crystallization and salt collection;


Mineral salt

Salt mined from salt mines has a higher mineral content and a higher salt concentration. Mineral salt, as the name suggests, is salt mined from salt mines, such as rock salt in the desert, Sichuan salt in Sichuan, and mineral salt mined from hundreds of meters underground in Poland. Mineral salt contains rich minerals. Mineral salt has been deposited underground for thousands of years. In ancient times, industry was underdeveloped and pollution was low, so the mineral salt had good purity and few impurities. The following methods are mainly used for mineral salt refining: brine purification → round (flat) pan frying salt → vacuum evaporation salt making → hot pressing evaporation salt making → hot pressing and vacuum combined salt making;


Vacuum salt making

The evaporation process uses brine as raw material, adopts four-effect evaporation (evaporation tank), horizontal feeding, downstream salt discharge and external heating forced circulation evaporator to produce crude salt. The discharged part of the leaves is transferred to the nitrate analysis tank after three-stage preheating. The brine is heated and evaporated in the nitrate analysis tank to precipitate nitrate. The mother liquor flows into the flash tank by pressure difference, making full use of the waste heat after steam condensation, so that the condensed water flashes steam under the action of pressure difference.

Granular crystal salt


Production process: large-grain sea salt or mineral salt is used as raw material, and after 1-3 times of mechanical crushing, washing, screening, drying, packaging and other processes, the particles are complete, uniform in size, good in fluidity, and crystal clear;


Use of crystal salt: It has a wide range of uses, mainly used in bath salts, cosmetics production, skin care products, shower gels, etc.



Hot compress salt


Hot compress salt production process: usually made through a series of processes such as seawater evaporation, filtration, and drying.


Hot compress salt use: often used to make hot compress salt bags and physiotherapy supplies. Hot compress salt will generate heat after being electrically heated. This heat has the effect of promoting inflammation, relieving pain, reducing deep tissue congestion, and keeping warm. It plays a huge role and influence on human health.


Snow-melting salt


Use of snow-melting salt: Snow-melting salt melts snow on the road by lowering the melting temperature of ice and snow, making it easier to clear the road. It has a significant effect where it is spread. It is an inorganic snow-melting salt with "chloride salt" as the main ingredient, such as sodium chloride, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, potassium chloride, etc., commonly known as "ice-melting salt".




Feed salt


Use of feed salt: In animals, chloride ions and sodium ions are mainly present in body fluids and soft tissues, maintaining osmotic pressure, regulating acid-base balance, and controlling water metabolism. They are mineral elements necessary for the normal growth and development of animals. Sodium chloride is salty and can improve the palatability of feed. It can enhance appetite, help digestion and absorption of nutrients, and improve feed utilization. Lack of salt or insufficient salt content in feed can cause loss of appetite, digestive disorders, and pica in livestock and poultry. Therefore, sodium chloride, a feed additive, is an important mineral in livestock and poultry feed and is an indispensable substance for livestock and poultry to maintain life activities.



Pickling salt


Purpose of pickling salt: Mainly used for pickling meat and pickles, etc. Main raw materials and specifications: sea salt and lake salt.


Production method and process flow of pickling salt: The raw salt is washed, dried, screened and selected to obtain the finished pickling salt.




Fertilizer additives


Applications of fertilizer additives: Chemicals used to improve fertilizer performance, promote fertilizer efficacy, decompose residual pesticides, nitrates and improve soil environment.




Refined salt


Refined salt has a high sodium chloride content, less impurities, less consumption of refining agents, less salt mud, and good quality of refined brine, which is conducive to production. It is also increasingly valued by chlor-alkali enterprises, and the raw salt of the chlor-alkali industry is gradually being transformed into refined salt.


Refined salt is different from powdered washed salt and sun-dried salt. In the production process, it has more crushing, washing, recrystallization and other processes than ordinary pickling salt, so the price will be higher.
